Learning Center Programs

Welcome to Pediatric Therapy and Learning Center’s Therapeutic Groups! These groups are designed to be therapeutic, with a fun, nurturing and supportive environment. They are run by well-trained therapists and educators along with a great support staff. We work hard to understand each child’s individual profile and make accommodations to help the child be successful in a group setting. Below is a description of our programs.

BUDS: Preschool Social Learning Group

This group is designed for 3-6 year old children who may have difficulties in a community preschool. The group is filled with fun, developmentally-appropriate activities that support the improvement of communication, attention, transitions, peer interaction, and learning. We provide at least 1 adult for every 2 children in the group and the group is limited to 6 participants.

This year, we are offering two separate BUDS groups, one that meets in the morning and another that meets in the afternoon. Click here for general information about our program. If you want to learn more, please call our office or click the button below.

Connections: 1-on-1 Developmental Support

The PTLC Connections Program is offered to current therapy or BUDS clients as a way to expand and intensify their intervention program. Connections provides one-on-one developmental/educational time that focuses on providing additional Floortime support for children who are already receiving speech or occupational therapy. Sessions can often be scheduled before or after other services. Trained BUDS Teachers and Play Partners use DIR/Floortime techniques and input from the child’s therapists to help your child with the following:

  • Achieve and maintain a calm and alert state
  • Respond to others’ bids to connect
  • Sustain back-and-forth interactions
  • Enrich language skills
  • Experience situations that require problem-solving
  • Support specific therapy “homework” provided by the child’s therapist
