Here is what parents are saying about the program and about parent training, in general:

From a personal perspective, I have learned that I am capable of meeting my son’s needs and listening the way he needed me to. I learned that [he] wants to communicate and was willing to work as hard as we were….[The program is] the closest thing to having a therapist at home. It raises your own confidence to meet your child’s needs and gives you knowledge to make their time at home more productive.”

–Tim, a PTLC dad

I can’t say enough about parent involvement. I wish I would have started meeting with the therapist from day one when we started therapy. Not only are a lot of questions answered but a lot of my fears are alleviated. When a problem or situation arises you can talk with the therapist and come up with solutions together. You can discuss what does and doesn’t work for your child. Books are great for guides but having the therapist learn your child and your situation helps greatly. Also as the parent you are learning so much about your disorder that you quickly become overwhelmed with a “spectrum” of emotion. Having the therapist explain why they do and don’t do something has really helped me in these past few months. I highly recommend parent involvement. It has helped us at home so much!
